Ultra-high voltage (UHV) refers to transmission technology with a voltage class of 1000 kV and above for AC and ±800 kV and above for DC, which not only greatly enhances the power transmission capability of China's power grid but also contributes to optimizing the layout of power grids and power sources in China, promoting coordinated development of the power industry as a whole and regional economies. It is the world's first ±1100 kV UHV project, boasting four "world records":

Highest Voltage Level:

It is the world's first line using ±1100 kV DC transmission voltage level, with transmission losses of only 1.5% per thousand kilometers.

Largest Transmission Capacity:

With a transmission power of 12 million kW, it can transmit 66 billion kWh of electricity to East China annually. At this power, it could light up 400 million 30-watt bulbs.

Longest Transmission Distance:

The total length of the line is 3,293 kilometers, making it the longest transmission distance of any UHV project in the world.

Most Advanced Technology Level:

For the construction of this project, key equipment such as ±1100 kV converter transformers and converter valves were successfully developed, and the world's first indoor ±1100 kV DC field and on-site assembly scheme for sending-end converter transformers were adopted.
