On February 4, 2022, the long-anticipated Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics officially opened, and the "dual Olympic city" of Beijing once again ignited the passion and dreams of the Olympic Games with its unique charm. In terms of main construction projects, Far East Cable participated in the pipeline construction and equipment system project for the snowmaking system at the National Alpine Skiing Center ("Snow Feiyan"), the main competition venue for the Beijing Winter Olympics, as well as in projects such as the Duolemeidi Holiday Resort, one of the training sites for skiing events. During the construction of the "Snow Feiyan" project, Far East Cable overcame challenges such as low temperatures, high elevation differences, and tight schedules, providing customized cable products and services to ensure the successful completion of the snowmaking tasks.

Due to the high starting point, long track, large elevation difference, and steep slope of the ski runs, the construction difficulty was extremely high. In response, Far East Cable first consulted with the construction units to select the most suitable customized cable products. Second, to reduce the difficulty during cable installation, Far East Cable’s technical team adopted a new installation method after scientific evaluation—installing in 80-meter segments sequentially—ensuring orderly and safe completion at each stage.

Facing the challenge of low temperatures at high altitudes in northern winters, improper installation methods could lead to sheath cracking and potential safety hazards. To address this, Far East Cable’s technical team worked on-site with construction units to precisely pre-heat the cables before installation, ensuring the integrity of the sheath before and after laying and completely preventing sheath cracking.

In supporting infrastructure, the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-Speed Railway is of paramount importance, tightly connecting the three competition zones of Beijing, Yanqing, and Zhangjiakou, significantly enhancing transportation capacity between Beijing and Zhangjiakou, and creating an "hourly living circle" through interconnected transport facilities. As a supplier for the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-Speed Railway project, Far East Cable provided all cable products for Qinghe Station and supplied a large quantity of cables for the new Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-Speed Railway's "four-electric" system integration project and "three-electric" relocation project.

As the largest station along the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-Speed Railway line, Qinghe Station combines functionality and aesthetics, is fully equipped, and allows "zero-distance" transfers between high-speed rail, subway, and buses, gradually becoming a new comprehensive transportation hub in northern Beijing. During the Beijing Winter Olympics, Qinghe Station played a crucial transportation role, and Far East Cable ensured stable and reliable power transmission for key events.

To further enhance charging capabilities, State Grid Corporation of China continuously expanded its charging station network during the Beijing Winter Olympics, building 12 charging stations and installing 383 charging piles around Olympic venues and along the Jingli Expressway section between Beijing and Zhangjiakou. Notably, the Olympic venues also launched new energy vehicle super charging stations. Far East Cable provided liquid-cooled high-power charging cables, ensuring the project’s efficient and green operation, meeting electric vehicle owners’ urgent demand for high-power and fast charging, and fully embodying the green Olympics concept.

This liquid-cooled cable can conduct electricity while simultaneously using coolant to dissipate heat, increasing power capacity by more than three times compared to traditional cables, greatly enhancing current-carrying capacity, while reducing weight by over 50%. It enables a 3-5 minute charge to provide 100 km of range. Moreover, the product has passed high-temperature refrigerant corrosion tests and features excellent resistance to bursting, climate, UV radiation, and low temperatures, ensuring charging safety. It effectively addresses the current bottleneck of slow charging speed limiting the development of electric vehicles and meets the intensive charging demands of electric vehicles during the Winter Olympics.
